We were staying in Marathon to go visit Big Bend, and didn't think there was much to do at night in this tiny town. But we stumbled on this Dark Skies party, knowing that this area of Texas was a certified Dark Skies area. We were lucky to have clear skies and an amazing view of so many stars. Bill and his assistant, Allen, were delightful and knowledgeable and made us want to learn more. We were there two nights before the big Solar Eclipse. We planned to go to Kerrville for this, but with cloudy skies there we decided to go to the place of this star party and learn more about it from Bill. He had his telescopes set up for us, and it was a fun day for all.

It was wonderful! I have never had the opportunity to look through a 20" telescope before and it is amazing. Bill is very enthusiastic and explains how to use the telescope, what you are viewing and how we on Earth relate to the stars we see. I would highly recommend it. [5 Stars]
